1. The Zetor UR I Family

2. Identification

Record exact model, serial number, engine identification, 2WD/4WD specification and cab version. Do not assume parts interchange merely because tractors look similar.

3. Diesel Engine

Check cold start, oil pressure, blow-by, exhaust smoke, coolant condition and fuel-system leaks. Mechanical simplicity makes basic diagnosis especially effective.

4. Cold Starting

Check battery, starter speed, cold-start aid, fuel supply, compression and injection timing. Repeated ether use should not replace proper diagnosis.

5. Fuel Injection

Inspect filters, lift/transfer supply, injection pump timing, injector condition and return lines. Air leaks on the suction side can cause hard starting and power loss.

6. Cooling System

Check radiator cleanliness, fan/belt, thermostat, water pump, hoses and coolant. Farm dust and chaff are common causes of overheating.

7. Gearbox and Range Selection

Check all gears and ranges, selector operation, bearing noise and oil condition. Water contamination is common on tractors stored outside.

8. Clutch

Common faults include slipping, dragging, release-bearing noise and sticking after storage. Use the exact free-play and internal adjustment procedure.

9. PTO
